Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O has been asked to pose for Playboy magazine – but don’t expect any “titties, dicks, or fannies”.

Speaking exclusively, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer said that the magazine had approached her for a cover.

“I was approached but I said no. Who knows though?” she said. “Maybe I’ll do it in the future, but now doesn’t seem to be the right time. It all depends on instinct really – but there won’t be any titties, dicks or fannies!”

Rumours began to ciculate when Karen O was interviewed by an American newspaper about the ups and downs of being a sex symbol.

“I guess it’s fun, but I’m so detached from it”, she told the New York Times. “I see footage from our show, I’m shocked by what I’m doing. But Playboy asked me about being on the cover. That’s pretty insane. I may do it in the future”.

The YYYs’ stay in the UK included a recording for Later… With Jools Holland, a Top Of The Pops appearance and a gig at the London Forum. The group were also strongly rumoured to be playing a ‘secret’ Forum warm-up show at the London Camden Barfly.
