So Solid Crew‘s Kaish has said that the time he spent in prison for a crime he didn’t commit has ruined his life.
The MC served over four months in London’s tough Pentoville and Brixton prisons on remand for gun and drug charges.
However, the charges were all dropped last week when it was sensationally revealed that the prosecution case was built entirely on evidence from a lip-reader who observed Kaish talkin on CCTV.
“My career is ruined,” Kaish said.
“When I went down I missed out on shows, I was doing the album, I had lined up tracks for other people’s albums. I was seeing a lot of money come in. I lost a record deal worth at least £300,000”
“Now I will be labelled my whole career. Even when I get back on my feet, there will still be people out there that think I’m this bad person.”
“I was innocent. I should have never been arrested. I just want to get on with my life.”
Kaish, whose real name is Shane Neil, also went into detail about the brutality and horrors he saw in prison and how he had to deny his identity in order to protect himself.
“I saw people getting boiling water thrown in their faces,” he said. “I saw two people hang themselves. One was a cell away from me. They cut a piece of blanked into a long strip, tied it to the window bars and put it round their neck, stood on the heating pipes and jumped off.”
